Preserve headers/logos underneath 125 pixels high. It takes up beneficial viewing space, primarily for laptop users, that is ideal left for the good stuff to appear"above the fold" Take a cue from the massive businesses, straightforward logos completed nicely say it all. This is our #1 pet peeve - screaming logos and headers!
I back up my blogs regularly using a plugin WP DB Backup. I will always restore my blog to the 13, if anything happens. I use my blog to be scanned by WP Security Scan plugin and WordPress Firewall to block asks that are suspicious-looking to fix hacked wordpress.
Also, don't make the mistake of believing that your web host will have your back so far as WordPress backups go. Not always. While they say they do, it's been my experience that the hosting company may or may not be doing proper backups. Take that kind of chance?

Don't use wp_ as a prefix for your databases. Web hosting providers are currently removing that default now but if yours doesn't, adjust wp_ to anything but that.
